Sofía Yanjarí Aburto (1990) is a freelance photographer based in Santiago, Chile.

Her documentary work has a main interest in social issues, in topics such as human rights, migration, feminism and news coverage.
She has a Bachelor of Visual Arts and a Painter degree from Universidad de Chile.
She also has the title of Professional Photographer from the Escuela de FotoArte de Chile.

She has attended several workshops to continue her education and enrich her photographic work, such as the Photojournalism Workshop in Latin America dictated by the France Press Agency in 2014, different World Press Photo Workshops in 2017, 2018 and 2019 in Chile, as well as the Workshop of "Reporting Methodology" with Walter Astrada in 2020.

Winner of 1st place in the Reportage Portrait category, at 2019 Fotoprensa Contest, in the 41st National Photojournalism Exhibition in Chile.

She is currently a stringer for Reuters and a correspondent for the newspaper El País.
His work has been published in different independent and international media, such as El País, La Vanguardia, Sputnick News, PlayGround, among others.
